What is the difference between a “Processed” transaction and a “Pending” transaction?

When you make a purchase with your BGL BNP Paribas credit card, the transaction first appears with the status “Pending”. This means that the payment is being verified and processed. This may take up to 24 hours or longer.

Once the transaction is marked as “Processed”, it is taken into account in the total amount of purchases made with your credit card during the relevant period. The amount of these purchases will then be debited from the account linked to your credit card on the scheduled collection date. You can check this date in the monthly credit card statement closing calendar.

If the transaction is not confirmed by the merchant, it may remain “Pending” for several days before disappearing. In this case, the transaction will simply be cancelled: it will not affect the spending limit of your credit card, and no amount will be debited.
