For all transactions completed with your iPhone, iPad or Mac, you must identify yourself with Face ID, Touch ID or your access code. Your Apple Watch is protected by an access code that only you know, and is required every time you use Apple Pay.

Your card number and personal details are not disclosed to the seller. They aren’t stored on your device or Apple servers, either. When making payments in an app or on a website opened in Safari, the only information the seller receives is the name, e-mail address and billing/delivery address provided during the purchase. Apple Pay stores anonymous information about the transaction, such as approximate purchase amounts. This information cannot be linked to your identity and never includes the contents of your purchases. Apps that include Apple Pay must have a privacy policy explaining how they use data. This policy must be freely available.
