    Which types of account can I open?

    You can open a current account or a savings account (Finance4Good or Classic).

    How do I open an online account?

    To open an online account:

    From the Web Banking website

    1. Log on, then click on “Accounts” in the menu on the left-hand side of the page. This will take you to your account summary.

    2. Click “Open an account” in the column on the right. This brings you to the page for opening an account.

    3. Click the green button “Open an account” to display the form to open an account.

    4. Follow the instructions and fill in the information required to open an account. 

    From the Web Banking app

    1. Log on, then click on “Accounts” in the menu on the left-hand side of the page. This will take you to your account summary.

    2. Click on “Current account” and then click on “Open a new account”. This will take you to a page offering a choice of account types.

    3. Click on “Open a new account”. This will take you to the details section for the account chosen.

    4. Follow the instructions.

      Remember that if you open an account from your Web Banking, it will be opened in your name. If you want to open a bank account for someone who is not yet a BGL BNP Paribas client, go to to our website.

    What supporting documents do I need to open an account online?

    Supporting documents are not required when opening an account from your Web Banking. 

    All you need do is go to your Web Banking and submit your application to open an account online. Our Client Service will contact you to complete the remaining steps to open the account.

    I’m not a BGL BNP Paribas customer, can I open an account online (without going into a branch)?

    You can complete the entire application process online if you choose “Via a video chat on my smartphone” in response to the question “How would you like to be identified?”

    However, you’ll need to visit a branch if:

    • You already have a LuxTrust certificate.
    • You don’t have a new enough smartphone to install LuxTrust Mobile.
    • You’re ineligible or prefer not to verify your identity by video.

    How do I view my bank accounts?

    From the Web Banking website

    You can view your bank accounts from your Web Banking website in either of two ways:

    • For a quick snapshot:

      You can access all your bank accounts from the dashboard in your Web Banking. This is the home screen you see when you log in.

      You can get a snapshot of each of your accounts in the bank account module. Use the arrows on the right and left to navigate quickly through your accounts.

    • If you want to access to account summary:

      Click on “Accounts” in the menu on the left-hand side of your Web Banking. Access your account summary, showing:

      - your current accounts;
      - your active loans;
      - your savings accounts;
      - your credit cards;
      - your Cardif insurance policies;
      - your securities accounts.

    Click on the account to see the transaction details on each account. 

    You can also click the account menu to see the transactions on each account.

    The account menu is to the right of the account name, represented by three dots in a vertical line. Click these to open a drop-down menu. Then click “Activity”.

    From the Web Banking app

    You can view your bank accounts from your Web Banking app in either of two ways:

    • For a quick snapshot:

      You can access all your bank accounts from the dashboard in Web Banking. This is the home screen you see when you log in.

      You can get a snapshot of each of your accounts in the bank account module. In this module, swipe right (or left) to navigate quickly through your accounts.

    • If you want to access your account summary:

      Click on “Accounts” in the menu on the left-hand side of your Web Banking. Access your account summary, showing:

      - your current accounts;
      - your savings accounts;
      - your active loans;
      - your credit card lines.

      Click on the account name to see the transaction details on each account.

    How can I view my bank account details from my Web Banking?

    To see the details of one of my bank accounts:

    From the Web Banking website

    1. Log on, then click on “Accounts” in the menu on the left-hand side of the page. This will take you to your account summary. 

    2. Click on the account you want to view. This will take you to your account details section. 

    3. Click on the account menu. This is located in the top-right and represented by three vertical dots. Click on the three dots and a drop-down menu will appear. 

    4. Click on “Features” in the drop-down menu. This will take you to the screen showing the information for your account:

    • Contract type: Current account, savings, credit/overdraft facility, card facility;
    • IBAN;
    • Account balance;
    • Available balance (including your credit/overdraft facilities);
    • Your credit/overdraft facility amount (if relevant);
    • Validity date for the information.

    From the Web Banking app

    1. Log on, then click on “Accounts” in the menu on the left-hand side of the page. This will take you to your account summary.

    2. Click on the account you want to view. This will take you to your account details section.

    3. Click on the “Management” menu and then on the “Details” tab.
     
    4. This will take you to the account details page:

    • contract type: Current account, savings, credit/overdraft facility, card facility;
    • IBAN;
    • account balance;
    • available balance;
    • the credit/overdraft facility amount (if relevant);
    • validity date for the information.

    How do I search for transactions under “Activity”?

    To search for a transaction on one of my bank accounts:

    From the Web Banking website

    1. Log on, then click on “Accounts” in the menu on the left-hand side of the page. This will take you to your account summary.

    2. Click on the account you want to view. This will take you to your account details section. 

    3. Use the search bar at the top right (next to the green button with the magnifying glass). Enter a date, an amount or part of a description in the search field.

    4. Click the magnifying glass icon on the right to start the search. You can search by amount, date or beneficiary name.

      The system will display the transactions that match your search criteria.

    From the Web Banking app

    1. Log on, then click on “Accounts” in the menu on the left-hand side of the page. This will take you to your account summary.

    2. Click on the account you want to view. This will take you to your account details section.

    3. Use the search bar above the name of your last transaction. Enter a date, an amount or part of a description in the search field.

    4. Click on “Search” at the bottom right of your keyboard.

      The system will display the transactions that match your search criteria.

    How do I see the transactions for one of my bank accounts?

    To see the transactions for one of my bank accounts:

    From the Web Banking website

    1. Click on “Accounts” in the menu on the left-hand side of the page. This will take you to your account summary, which shows all of your bank accounts.

    2. To see the list of transactions on each account, click on the account you want to view. This will take you to your account details section.

    3. Or click the menu for the account, represented by three dots in a vertical line at the right of the account name. In the drop-down menu, click “Activity”.

    1. Click on “Accounts” in the menu on the left-hand side of the page. This will take you to the account summary, which shows all of your bank accounts.

    2. To see the list of transactions on each account, click on the account you wish to view. This will take you to your account details section.

    What does “The maximum of two years of transfers has been reached” mean in my account activity?

    You can view all your transactions for the past two years. But, your account history does not go back further than two years.

    If you want to look up transactions that are more than two years old, go to “E-Documents” and search for the notifications relative to your search criteria.

    How do I find and download the account history for one of my bank accounts?

    To find and download the account history for one of my bank accounts:

    From the Web Banking website

    1. Log on, then click on “Accounts” in the menu on the left-hand side of the page. This will take you to your account summary. 

    2. Click on the account you want to view. This will take you to your account details section. 

    3. Click on the account menu. This is located in the top-right and represented by three vertical dots. Click on the three dots and a drop-down menu will appear. 

    4. Click on “Download” in the drop-down menu. This brings you to the Export Account Activity window. 

    5. Select the period you are interested in. You can only download transactions for the past two years. If you want to look up transactions that are more than two years old, go to e-documents. 

    Please note that you can still:

    • Either click “Select a period”. A drop-down menu opens. Pick the option you want.
    • Or use the calendars to select a start date and end date

    6. Click the button to choose the format for your export: xls or csv.

    7. Click on “Validate”. The document is now available for download.

    From the Web Banking app

    1. Go to your E-documents. You have two options:

    • Click on the “E-documents” tab if you are on your dashboard, or;
    • Go to the menu and select the “Accounts” tab. Your account summary will open.
    • Select the relevant account and click on “Management” and then on “E-documents”.

    2. Click on the “filter” icon in the top right of the screen. This will bring you to a screen with three filters:
     
    • Select the relevant year;
    • Select “account statement” in the “type” field;
    • Select the relevant account in the “account” field.

    3. The transaction history for one of your bank accounts will be shown.

    How do I print the account history for one of my bank accounts?

    To print the account history for one of your bank accounts in your Web Banking: 

    1. Log on, then click on “Accounts” in the menu on the left-hand side of the page. This will take you to your account summary. 

    2. Click on the account you want to view. This will take you to your account details section. 

    3. Click on the account menu. This is located in the top-right and represented by three vertical dots. Click on the three dots and a drop-down menu will appear. 

    4. Click on “Print” in the drop-down menu. This will take you to a window summarising your account transactions.

    5. Select the period you want to print. You can only print transactions for the past two years. If you want to see transactions dating back further than two years, go to e-documents. 

    Please note that you can still:

    • Either click “Select a period”. A drop-down menu opens. Pick the option you want.
    • Or use the calendars to select a start date and end date.

    7. Click on “Validate”. Your account activity is exported in PDF format and can be printed.

    How can I check the value of my accounts in another currency?

    To find out how much my accounts are worth in another currency:

    From the Web Banking website

    1. Log on, then click on “Accounts” in the menu on the left-hand side of the page. This will take you to your account summary. 

    2. Go to “Account Summary” and click “Balance in account currency”. A drop-down menu with a list of currencies appears. 

    3. Click to select your currency and update your balance in that currency.

    From the Web Banking app

    1. Log on, then click on “Accounts” in the menu on the left-hand side of the page. This will take you to your account summary.

    2. Click on the currency symbol under “Account summary”. A drop-down menu with a list of currencies appears.

    3. Click to select your currency. Your account balance is shown in the currency selected.

     

RIB/IBAN

    Where can I find my Bank Account Identification (RIB) or IBAN?

    Here’s how to find the RIB/IBAN for one of your bank accounts:

    From the Web Banking website

    1. Log on, then click on “Accounts” in the menu on the left-hand side of the page. This will take you to your account summary. 

    2. Click on the relevant account. This will take you to your account details section. 

    3. Click on the account menu. This is located in the top-right and represented by three vertical dots. Click on the three dots and a drop-down menu will appear. 

    4. Click on “Bank Account Identification” in the drop-down menu. This will take you to a window summarising your account transactions. 

    Tip: You can use the Web Banking app, available for iOS and Android, to share your Bank Account Identification (RIB) in one click.

    From the Web Banking app

    1. Log on, then click on “Accounts” in the menu on the left-hand side of the page. This will take you to your account summary.

    2. Click on the relevant account. This will take you to your account details section.
     
    3. Click on the “Management” menu and then on “Bank Account Identification”. This will take you to a window summarising your account transactions.
     
    Tip: You can use your Web Banking app to share your RIB in one click. Or download it straight to your smartphone or tablet. Just click on “Share”.
     

My E-documents

    How can I opt to receive my account statements online only?

    To receive account statements online only:

    From the Web Banking website

    1. Log on to Web Banking.

    2. Click on the “Accounts” tab in the main menu. This will take you to your account summary.

    3. Click on the “Paperless” box at the right of the page. An explanation of the paperless process will be displayed on your screen.

    4. If you have several root accounts, select which ones you want to be paperless.

    5. Click on “Validate”.

      NB: the sending of paper letters will cease from the 1st day of the following month.

    From the Web Banking app

    1.  Log in to your Web Banking app.
    2. Click on the “Paperless” tab in the main menu.
       
    3. Click on “Go paperless”.
       
    4. Select the account(s) for which you wish to receive your statements online.

    5. Click on “Validate”.

      NB: the sending of paper statements will cease from the 1st day of the following month.

    Where can I find my E-documents?

    All your documents are stored in the “E-documents” area in your Web Banking under “Management”.

    I would like to receive my account statements in paper format again. Is this possible?

    You can reinstate paper statements at any time by calling our Client Service on (+352) 42 42-2000 or on (+352) 42 42-2525 if you are a Private Banking Luxembourg (BPL) client.

    How can I find a specific document in my list of E-documents?

    To find a specific document in my list of E-documents:

    From the Web Banking website

    1. When your list of E-documents is displayed, the names of the various columns appear at the top of the page:

      - “Year” allows you to select the year your E-documents were issued; 

      - “Types of documents” allows you to view one or more document types (transaction notification, account statement, message, etc.);

      - “Accounts” allows you to select the E-documents for a specific account;

      - “Ref” allows you to select the reference(s) of the documents you wish to view.

    2. When requested, click on “OK” to apply the filter.

    3. The filtered documents will be displayed.

    From the Web Banking app

    1. When your list of E-documents is displayed, click on the “filter” icon in the top right of the screen. This will bring you to a screen with three types of filter that you can apply.
       
    2. Select the filter options that fit your search:

      - The “year” filter allows you to select the date your E-documents were issued;

      - The “type” filter allows you to view one or more document types (transaction notification, account statement, message, etc.);

      - The “account” filter allows you to select the E-documents for a specific account.

    3. Click on the back arrow at the top left of your screen. This will bring you back to the E-document screen with your filter selection applied.

    4. Your specific document will be displayed.
