Djamel Tatah, born in 1959 in Saint-Chamond in the Loire area, attended Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Saint-Etienne from 1981 to 1986. He gradually came to focus on painting, producing life-sized human figures set against vivid expanses of colour.
Djamel Tatah's work explores ways of giving visual form to otherness and solitude.
Since 1992 his paintings have been shown in a number of exhibitions in France and internationally.
The new show comprises a series of recent paintings, from 2008 to 2012, together with lithographs and wood engravings.
Djamel Tatah's work will be on show at the BGL BNP Paribas Villa, located at 10A, Boulevard Royal in Luxembourg, from 23 November 2012 to 18 January 2013. Opening hours are from 9 am to 4 pm, Mondays to Fridays.
