You only advance loans to well-established businesses, never to start-ups... Why?

That is not true; BGL BNP Paribas supports all businesses in general. The bank is associated with Private Equity funds, and it can put start-ups in contact with these specialist funds (e.g. EUREFI - a cross-border development fund; CDPME - a capital development structure to reinforce the financial basis of industrial SMEs, under the supervision of the SNCI).

A bank's role however is to fund the operating cycle for both new and established companies, rather than to provide full financing at the moment of its creation. Therefore, a company can maximise its chances of obtaining financing with a well prepared start-up project along with a detailed business plan.

In 2012, BGL BNP Paribas provided over €1 billion in financing for Luxembourg companies, including a number of young start-ups.
